AT&T Expands Fiber Network to Help Close Digital Divide in the Shreveport Area

AT&T Fiber, Ultra-Fast Internet Speeds Now Available to More Locations in Shreveport

Shreveport, LA., March 25, 2022 — Continuing our efforts to close the digital divide and connect people wherever they live and work, AT&T* is expanding our award-winning fiber network to serve more residential and small business locations across the Shreveport metro area.

This week, AT&T announced new availability of AT&T Fiber to a number of residential and small business locations in neighborhoods near Woodlawn Leadership Academy.

“I applaud AT&T for extending three critical services to more customers in our community, and I appreciate their commitment to continued investments to help ensure our residents and our businesses have the modern connectivity they need,” James Green, Chairman of the Shreveport City Council.

The expanded network will give more residents access to ultra-fast home internet speeds. The residents in these areas are among many across the Shreveport metro area where AT&T Fiber is available, including areas like Broadmoor, Cedar Grove, Highlands, South Highlands, and many others.

AT&T is committed to connecting more Americans to reliable, high-speed broadband internet in several ways, including expanding and upgrading our network and participating in the federal Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP). The ACP provides eligible households with a benefit of up to $30 a month and up to $75 on qualifying Tribal lands to reduce the cost of broadband service and can be applied to all our AT&T Fiber speed tiers.

Additionally, we recently introduced a new plan to our Access from AT&T program, providing internet speeds of up to 100 Mbps of symmetrical speed for $0 when combined with ACP.[1]

“We are continually working to help close the digital divide by expanding our fiber footprint and delivering ultra-fast internet that keeps residents and businesses connected,” said David Aubrey, Vice President, AT&T Louisiana. “We are committed to investing in the modern, high-speed network infrastructure necessary in today’s economy, and we are also committed to supporting consumers to help remove connectivity obstacles for income-eligible homes.”

AT&T Fiber, now delivering speeds of up to 5-Gigs in select areas,[2] is truly internet that upgrades everything. With consistently fast speeds, even at peak times,[3] consumers can expect strong performance across AT&T Fiber’s portfolio of speed tiers. Plus – our new straightforward pricing offers new customers no equipment fees, no annual contract, no data caps and no price increase at 12 months — just the fastest internet, plus AT&T ActiveArmor SM internet security, next-gen Wi-Fi, and HBO Max[4] included at no additional cost.
